For the attention of our partners and customers!
The demand for radiation measurement instruments of "ECOTEST" TM resulted in the development of web-"clones" and websites that offer devices that resemble our products.
We have nothing to do with these websites.
We emphasize that Natanson Inc (www.tarrex.com) is not our partner. We have no relationships with them and have never had any. Consequently we feel that it is unacceptable on their part to state that we are supposedly cooperating.
We remind you that our company has three corporate websites:
www.ecotest.ua
www.terra-p.com
www.ecotestvip.com
Be alert not to be deceived. When ordering products ask for evidence that would identify the seller and confirm the existence of the offered products. In other words, you should make sure that the seller and products are real.
Useful advices
To turn on the dosimeter
Press and hold the MODE button for one second. The dosimeter automatically enters the mode of gamma radiation measurement.
To measure gamma radiation
Put the "+" symbol on the back of the case exactly over the area you wish to measure. The speed of the clicks indicates the level of radiation (every click indicates a detected gamma radiation quantum), and the digital readout will give a measurement. If the radiation level changes significantly, the readout on the display will start flashing. This indicates that the unit has entered an averaging mode to give more accurate results after the flashing stops.
Note: natural radiation background is indicated on the back of the case.
To measure beta radiation
The unit should be switched in the mode of gamma radiation measurement. To evaluate beta radiation, take two measurements: the first one with the closed cover with the "+" symbol on the back of the case; and the second one with the cover removed. The difference between two readouts should be taken as a measurement result. If the results of the first and second measurement do not differ, beta radiation is not present.
Note: for more accurate readout, take the second measurement only after the digits stop flashing on the display.
To view cumulative gamma dose
To estimate total gamma dose that you have accumulated from the moment when the dosimeter was turned on, press the MODE button. Note that for more accurate reading, you would need to have the unit with you at all times. To reset the readings, turn the dosimeter off.
To view the clock
To use the clock on the Terra-P, press the MODE button twice after the dosimeter is turned on (or once after the cumulative dose mode). To set the clock:
- Press and hold the THRESHOLD button down until the minutes start blinking.
- To increase or decrease the minutes, release and press again the THRESHOLD button until the necessary value appears.
- When finished, press the MODE button to set the hours and repeat the procedure.
- Press the MODE button again and the dosimeter will fix the settings.
- Press the MODE button twice and the dosimeter will switch to gamma radiation measurement mode.
To use the alarm-clock
The mode of the alarm-clock follows the clock mode. Set the alarm-clock the same way you would the clock. You can turn the alarm on or off with the help of pressing the MODE button. Use the THRESHOLD button to make the alarm symbol appear or disappear on the display. With the help of the MODE button fix the made settings. This alarm sounds a series of three high-pitched beeps lasting for one minute. The alarm will sound even when the dosimeter is off.
To turn the dosimeter off
To turn the dosimeter off, press and hold the MODE button for four seconds.
Note: even when the display backlight is off it does not mean the dosimeter is off. Press shortly the MODE or THRESHOLD button if the dosimeter is "asleep".
Take care of your unit
Failure to do the following things will void your warranty. The usual warnings apply:
- don't drop it,
- don't get it wet,
- don't take it apart,
- don't damage warranty seals.
Try not to let it get too dusty. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Use the special leather case to protect the unit from rain.
